USDA APHIS Quarantine Areas

Our lab is able to accept soils from most areas of the United States, aside from a small number of quarantine areas. These are specifically outlined below. We cannot accept soil from the following locations:

California
Small portions of the following California counties (see the map):
Los Angeles County - Mediterranean Fruit Fly; Queensland Fruit Fly
Riverside County - Oriental Fruit Fly
San Bernadino County - Oriental Fruit Fly
Ventura County - Queensland Fruit Fly

 

Idaho
Small portions of the following counties in an 8.5 mile radius in SE Idaho (see the map):
Bingham County - Pale Cyst Nematode
Bonneville County - Pale Cyst Nematode

 

New York
The following entire counties (see the map):
Cayuga County - European Cherry Fruit Fly
Genese County - European Cherry Fruit Fly
Monroe County - European Cherry Fruit Fly
Niagra County - European Cherry Fruit Fly
Ontario County - European Cherry Fruit Fly
Orleans County - European Cherry Fruit Fly
Wayne County - European Cherry Fruit Fly


Texas
Small portions of the following Texas counties (see the map):
Cameron County - Mexican Fruit Fly
Hidalgo County - Mexican Fruit Fly
Starr County - Mexican Fruit Fly
Willacy - Mexican Fruit Fly

There are many more quarantine areas within the United States, however our lab is permitted to accept soils from all locations except those listed above. You can examine a full map of regulated areas.
